AI named a nursery, school or centre in 92% of Claude's live-search answers and in all 49 of Gemini's answers from memory, about 5 names each time. This was also the category where the two lenses agreed most: they shared at least one name on 26.7% of questions, the highest of all 10 industries in our study. For "Best nursery in Dubai Marina?" both put the same nursery first.
The answers lean on two things a school controls only partly: property portal guides and official ratings. Bayut and Property Finder guides were cited 60 times, in 30 of 50 answers. KHDA or ADEK ratings were mentioned in 10 live-search answers and 11 from memory, yet no KHDA or ADEK page was cited even once. Arabic is the gap: Claude named no one on 4 of 25 Arabic questions, two of them about affordable nurseries.
What we asked AI about nurseries, schools and courses
We wrote 50 questions the way UAE parents and learners ask them: 25 in English and 25 in Arabic, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman. They cover nurseries, British and IB schools, special needs schools, maths tutors, coding classes for kids, IELTS preparation, Arabic classes for adults and driving schools. The English set had 11 comparing questions, 10 about a specific need and 4 about price. The Arabic set mirrors those types. Here are 13 of them, word for word.
| Question | Language | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Best nursery in Dubai Marina? | English | Compare |
| Which British curriculum school in Dubai is the best? | English | Compare |
| Best IB school in Dubai with good fees? | English | Specific need |
| Affordable nursery in JVC with good reviews? | English | Price |
| Best maths tutor in Dubai for IGCSE? | English | Specific need |
| Which school in Dubai is best for children with special needs? | English | Specific need |
| Best coding classes for kids in Dubai Hills? | English | Specific need |
| Best IELTS preparation centre in Al Nahda? | English | Specific need |

Which schools and centres did AI name most often?
This table shows how many answers named each one, out of 50 for Claude and 49 for Gemini. We merged branch names and spellings of the same name, including Arabic and Latin versions. This is what two AI assistants said on one day, 21 October 2026. It is not our ranking and not an endorsement of any school or centre.
| School or centre | Claude, live search (of 50) | Gemini, from memory (of 49) |
|---|---|---|
| Chubby Cheeks Nursery | 3 | 8 |
| Raffles nurseries | 1 | 8 |
| Blossom Nursery | 6 | 6 |
| British Orchard Nursery | 5 | 5 |
| Excellence Driving School | 6 | 0 |
| Emirates Driving Institute | 5 | 4 |
| Logiscool | 0 | 6 |
| British Council | 1 | 6 |
| Eton Institute | 1 | 5 |
| Junior Codes | 3 | 0 |
Nurseries are where the lenses met. Blossom and British Orchard were named about as often from memory as in live search, and both lenses put Willow first for Dubai Marina. For British schools, both put Dubai College first, in English and in Arabic. Both named Emirates Driving Institute on 3 of the driving school questions.
Courses are where they split. From memory, Gemini sent coding questions to international and online brands (Logiscool 6 answers, RoboGarden 5, Codingal 4, Novakid 3), and IELTS questions to the British Council. Live search named none of those coding brands. It named UAE providers whose own pages mentioned the area asked about, such as Junior Codes for coding in Dubai Hills, Downtown and Abu Dhabi.
The lenses shared at least one name on 12 of the 45 questions both answered with names. Of all the names Gemini gave from memory, 21.9% appeared somewhere in Claude's live-search answers. Even Gemini alone moved: asked twice about 20 minutes apart, it put different nurseries first for Dubai Marina, though its two answers shared three names.
Where the answers came from
Claude cited 466 pages for these 50 answers, 9.3 per answer.
| Type of source | Share of 466 citations |
|---|---|
| School and centre websites and other sites | 73.4% |
| Directories and listings (Property Finder, Bayut, Edarabia) | 15.5% |
| Wikipedia | 7.3% |
| Review platforms | 0.9% |
| Social media and forums | 1.5% |
| News and media | 1.5% |
The most-cited sites were en.wikipedia.org (34), propertyfinder.ae (30), bayut.com (30), coursetakers.ae (10), illumine.app (9), apilproperties.com (8), courses.laimoon.com (8), uaezoom.com (8), edarabia.com (7) and littlecoderacademy.com (7). What that means:
- Property portals are the nursery guide. Property Finder and MyBayut publish a guide for almost every area, such as "Best Nurseries in and Around Dubai Marina" and "Nurseries in Dubai Marina: British Orchard, Blossom & More". Both nurseries in that second title were then named in the Dubai Marina answer. Together the two portals were cited 60 times in 30 of the 50 answers, 38 of those citations in Arabic answers.
- A software company's blog. illumine.app, a childcare management software company, was cited 9 times in 8 answers for posts such as "Top 10 Dubai Nurseries & Kindergartens in 2026". Anyone who publishes a clear list can become the source.
- Course directories for tutors and classes. Coursetakers, Laimoon, Edarabia and MyPrivateTutor fed the IELTS, Arabic class and tutor answers.
- The regulator was not cited. The single "government" citation was a blog post about KHDA ratings that our classifier counted because its address contains "khda". No KHDA or ADEK page was cited at all.
Even so, ratings were everywhere in the answers. Claude described Kings' School Al Barsha as having "maintained Outstanding ratings for fifteen consecutive KHDA inspections", Raffles World Academy as "the most affordable KHDA Very Good-rated full-IB school in Dubai", and one Abu Dhabi nursery branch as having "earned the prestigious 'Outstanding' rating from ADEK". KHDA publishes an overall rating for each Dubai private school in its online directory, which also lists early childhood centres, and ADEK publishes Irtiqaa ratings for Abu Dhabi private schools. AI repeats these ratings, but it reads them from someone else's page.
Fees were repeated too. 16 of Claude's 50 answers quoted a fee in AED: 12 of the 25 English answers and 4 of the 25 Arabic ones. Examples include a Dubai Marina nursery's annual fee range and IGCSE maths tutoring "from AED 150/hr".
English vs Arabic
| English | Arabic | |
|---|---|---|
| Claude: answers naming at least one | 100% | 84% |
| Claude: names per answer | 5.6 | 3.6 |
| Claude: hedged (named no one) | 0% | 16% |
| Gemini: names per answer | 5.6 | 4.5 |
| Claude: list-style share of cited pages | 49.1% | 38.7% |
| Claude: Wikipedia share of cited pages | 2.2% | 12.2% |
| Claude: answers quoting a fee | 12 of 25 | 4 of 25 |
Arabic answers were thinner in every way. Only 83.2% of the pages they cited were Arabic, the lowest of our five consumer categories, and Wikipedia filled much of the gap: for the Arabic question about IB schools with good fees, 7 of 9 sources were Wikipedia pages, and for an IGCSE maths tutor, 8 of 10 were, and Claude named no one.
The 4 Arabic hedges were the IGCSE maths tutor, coding classes in Sharjah, and affordable nurseries in Deira and in Al Nahda. For Deira, Claude said its results were about nurseries "in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar". For Al Nahda it found something stranger: the Arabic word حضانة means both a children's nursery and an incubator, and the search returned newborn incubators, "medical equipment instead of childcare centres".
One English answer left the country. Asked for coding classes for kids in Business Bay, Claude answered for the San Francisco Bay Area and named four coding schools serving the Bay Area.
Three real answers
Best nursery in Dubai Marina?
Claude, live search, named first: Willow Nursery Dubai Marina, Blossom Marina Nursery Dubai, Toddler Town British Nursery, with the curriculum, annual fee range and opening hours.
Gemini, from memory, named first: Willow Children's Nursery, British Orchard Nursery, Odyssey Nursery.
The same nursery first in both lenses, which was rare in our study.
أفضل مدرسة منهج بريطاني في دبي؟ (Best British curriculum school in Dubai?)
Claude, live search, named first: Dubai College, Kings' School Al Barsha, Nord Anglia. It gave Dubai College "annual fees from 82,500 to 96,000 dirhams and an 'Outstanding' rating from KHDA".
Gemini, from memory, named first: Dubai College, Jumeirah English Speaking School, Kings' School Al Barsha.
حضانة بأسعار معقولة وتقييم جيد في النهدة؟ (Affordable, well-rated nursery in Al Nahda?)
Claude, live search: named no one. It said the search returned rents in Al Nahda, newborn incubators and nurseries in other cities such as Riyadh.
Gemini, from memory, named first: Al Bustan Nursery, Creative Kids Nursery, Future Nursery.
What it costs to buy this attention instead
If you skip AI answers and pay for the top of Google, this is the price. Figures are average monthly searches and the top-of-page bid range from Google Ads Keyword Planner, UAE, 21 Oct 2026.
| Search | Monthly searches (UAE) | Competition | Top-of-page bid range |
|---|---|---|---|
| british school dubai | 4,400 | Medium | AED 2.10 to 15.87 |
| nursery dubai | 2,900 | High | AED 5.60 to 21.49 |
| ielts dubai | 880 | High | AED 2.43 to 17.60 |
| حضانة دبي (nursery Dubai) | 90 | High | AED 3.77 to 15.96 |
| driving school dubai, and مدرسة قيادة دبي | Keyword Planner returned no volume or bid data | ||
At the top of the range, 100 clicks on "nursery dubai" cost about AED 2,149. Demand follows the school year: "british school dubai" reached 6,600 searches in January 2026 and fell to 1,900 in March 2026, then went back to 5,400 in June and September 2026. "nursery dubai" ran from 1,900 to 3,600 a month.
A family chooses a school once and stays for years, so these clicks are worth a lot to the school that wins them. But more parents now ask an assistant for "a good British school with fair fees" before they search at all. The names in that answer are decided by guides, ratings and your own pages, not by your bid.
What a school, nursery or training centre should do
- Publish your rating, with the year. If you are a Dubai private school, state your KHDA overall rating and the year and link to your KHDA directory entry. In Abu Dhabi, state your ADEK Irtiqaa rating. A Dubai nursery can link to its entry among KHDA's early childhood centres. The answers repeated ratings in 10 live-search answers, but took them from other people's pages.
- Publish fees in plain text. Fees per year group or per course, what is included, and the date you last updated them. 16 of 50 answers quoted a fee, and only 4 of those were Arabic.
- Get into the area guides. The Property Finder and MyBayut nursery and school guides, Edarabia, and for courses Coursetakers, Laimoon and MyPrivateTutor. These guides were a large share of what the assistant read.
- Make one page per area and per course. "Nursery in JVC", "IELTS preparation in Al Nahda, Dubai", "coding classes for kids in Dubai Hills". Local centres were named in live search when their page matched the exact area.
- Write real Arabic pages with clear words. Use a full phrase such as "حضانة أطفال في النهدة، دبي" (children's nursery in Al Nahda, Dubai), write the fees in Arabic too, and name the city so a search cannot read it as Riyadh or as an incubator.
- Check more than one assistant, every month. Ask your 10 real parent questions on ChatGPT and Gemini, in English and Arabic, and write down who gets named.
If you want this done for you, our free AI check runs your questions on ChatGPT and Gemini and shows you who gets named instead of you. We don't promise a place on every list, because the lists change from day to day, and we never write ratings or fees that you have not confirmed.
Method and limits
How we did it. On 21 October 2026 we asked 500 real UAE buyer questions, 50 per industry (25 English, 25 Arabic). Lens 1 was Claude with live web search, which answered all 500 and listed its sources. Lens 2 was Gemini Flash-Lite through the Gemini API, answering from memory without live search; it answered 478 before the free tier's daily limit, including 49 of the 50 education questions. We coded every business named with one rule set, leaving out platforms and directories, government bodies, product brands and named people such as individual tutors.
Limits. One day and one run per question, and AI answers change daily. Claude's search runs on a US-based index, which may explain the Bay Area answer. Neither lens is exactly what a parent sees in the ChatGPT or Gemini apps. Names were matched with simple rules, so overlaps are lower bounds. We did not check every rating or fee the answers quoted. The full method is in the UAE AI visibility study.
