AI almost always names a dentist. Claude with live web search named at least one clinic in 49 of 50 answers, and Gemini answering from memory in 46 of 50. But the two lists barely met: by our matching, they shared even one clinic on only 7 of the 45 questions where both named someone.
With live search, one clinic stood out. Dr. Joy Dental Clinic was named in 11 of 50 answers, 8 of them in Arabic, and its own website was the most cited source in the category, level with the zavis.ai directory at 21 citations each. From memory, Gemini leaned on big groups instead: Thumbay in 10 answers and Aster in 8. Live search named Thumbay twice and Aster never.
Arabic is where it slips. Arabic questions about Business Bay and Al Nahda pulled Saudi pages, 20 citations in all, and 3 Arabic answers described Saudi clinics or Saudi results. And 45.8% of the pages AI cited had "best" or "top" style titles, a claim Dubai's health regulator does not let clinics make about themselves in social media ads.
What we asked
50 questions written the way UAE patients ask them, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman. The 25 English questions are tagged by intent: 9 compare, 6 specific, 4 price, 3 urgent and 3 trust. The 25 Arabic questions cover the same ground and are tagged "mixed". Here are 10 of them, word for word.

Who AI named
The table counts how many of the 50 answers named each clinic. We joined the English and Arabic spellings of the same name (Dr. Joy Dental Clinic and عيادة الدكتور جوي count as one), so some counts are higher than a count of exact spellings in the data file.

The two lenses disagree almost everywhere. Live search favoured single clinics with detailed pages, often in Arabic; Dr. Joy Dental Clinic was named first in 7 of Claude's answers. Memory favoured hospital groups and multi-branch names. Gemini also spelled Thumbay at least four different ways in Arabic, so pick one Arabic spelling of your name and use it everywhere.
Not a ranking. This is what two AI assistants said on one day, 21 October 2026. It is not our ranking, a review or an endorsement of any clinic. A clinic that is missing here may still be excellent, and the lists change between assistants and from day to day.
Where the answers came from
Claude ran a live search for every question and cited 9.18 pages per answer, 459 in all. These were the sites it used most:

By type, 88.0% of citations were clinic and other websites, 7.6% directories, 2.6% Wikipedia, 1.1% review platforms, and 0.2% each news, social media and government. Our filter counts only well-known directories such as Practo, Doctify and Vezeeta as directories; zavis.ai, HeliumDoc, tebcan and altibbi fall under "other websites", so the real directory share is higher. The one government page was DHA's Sheryan registry, cited once.
What this means for a clinic:
- Your own page wins when it answers the exact question. The clinic named most often was also the clinic with the most cited pages.
- Insurance questions are answered from directories. For "a dental clinic in Sharjah that takes my insurance", all 9 of Claude's sources were zavis.ai pages, and the answer quoted how many insurance plans each clinic accepts, for example 18 or 20 plans including Daman and AXA. If your insurance list is missing there, you are missing from that answer.
- "Best" lists are written by others. Ranked lists from zavis.ai and bestdentists.ae, and Arabic lists on HeliumDoc and altibbi, fed many answers. Being on them matters more than a "best" claim of your own.

The Arabic answers were built from Arabic pages: 96.5% of Claude's Arabic citations were Arabic. So they named the clinics that publish proper Arabic pages: GYA Dental Center and Oris Dental Center were named 7 times each, all in Arabic, never in English. Gemini hedged on 4 English questions, three about insurance, where it asked for the patient's insurance network first.
The wrong-country answers, question by question:
- q033, a clinic in Business Bay (الخليج التجاري) that takes insurance: the live answer described a clinic group in Riyadh.
- q035, best dental clinic in Al Nahda (النهدة): the live answer named a clinic in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, with a +966 number.
- q042, best dentist in Al Nahda by reviews: the live answer said its results were about Jeddah, Riyadh and Medina, and named no one.
- q025, top rated orthodontist in JVC: the live answer read JVC as Jacksonville in the United States and listed orthodontists there.
Two more Arabic Business Bay answers (q040 and q047) cited Riyadh pages but still named Dubai clinics. Al Nahda exists in Dubai, Sharjah and Riyadh, so an Arabic page should say which: النهدة، دبي or النهدة، الشارقة.
Three real answers
Emergency dentist open now near JLT?
Claude with live search named one clinic only, Hey Dental: "Hey Dental offers same-day emergency appointments at their JLT clinic next to DMCC Metro." Its other 8 sources were general emergency dentist sites, none of them a JLT clinic.
Gemini from memory said it could not check opening hours, then listed Saudi German Hospital, Mediclinic Meadows and Al Zahra Hospital.
Is there a dental clinic in Sharjah that takes my insurance and is well reviewed?
Claude with live search named 7 clinics, starting with Dar AL Sahra Dental Center, First Care Dental Clinic and Family Dental Center. All 9 of its sources were zavis.ai pages.

At the top of the range, 100 clicks on "dentist dubai" cost AED 16,093, and on "invisalign dubai" AED 24,385. "dentist dubai" ran from 1,900 searches in July 2026 to 3,600 in January and June 2026. Arabic Google searches are small, 320 a month for عيادة اسنان دبي, yet the Arabic AI answers named a different set of clinics. A named place in an AI answer has no click price, but it has to be earned with pages and listings, and no one can guarantee it. We compare the two in AI SEO vs Google Ads.
What a dental clinic should do
- Answer the exact questions patients ask. One clear page per treatment and branch area, with a dated price range, hours, the insurance networks you accept, female dentists and children's care. The JLT emergency answer named a single clinic, the one whose own page offered same-day emergency appointments.
- Get onto the directories AI reads. zavis.ai, Practo, Doctify, HeliumDoc and bestdentists.ae appeared again and again, and Arabic answers used HeliumDoc and altibbi. Keep your name, address, hours and insurance list identical on all of them and on your Google Business Profile.
- Write real Arabic pages, not a translation plugin. Arabic answers named the clinics with Arabic pages. Name the area and the emirate in both scripts, and pick one Arabic spelling of your clinic's name.
- Compete on facts, not on "best". DHA's Standards for Medical Advertisement Content on Social Media (section 6.11) say absolute claims such as "the best", "safest", "100%" and "immediate results" must not be used. Under Cabinet Resolution No. 7 of 2007, health ads need prior approval, and MOHAP's licence service lists websites and social media among the covered formats. Let the outside lists call you good; your pages give prices, doctors, languages and insurance. Patients can check your licence on DHA's Sheryan registry, so link to it.
- Expect memory to lag. Without search, Gemini named the groups it remembers. Consistent details everywhere and fresh outside mentions are how a clinic gets into what models learn next.

Method and limits. 50 dental questions (25 English, 25 Arabic), each asked once on 21 October 2026. Lens 1: Claude with Anthropic's live web search tool, all 50 answered, 459 citations saved; the search runs on a US-based index. Lens 2: Gemini Flash-Lite through the Gemini API, without live search, all 50 answered. Every recommended clinic was listed with one rule set; directories, government bodies, product brands and individual dentists were left out. Our name matching across languages may miss variants.
