Aesthetics is one of the most open categories we measured. With live search, Claude named at least one clinic in 49 of 50 answers, but no clinic held the answers: the most-named, King's College Hospital and Novomed, appeared in only 6 each. Across our study, the 5 most-named aesthetic clinics took just 7% of all live-search mentions.
From memory, Gemini was far more fixed. It named CosmeSurge in 15 of 50 answers (11 of them in Arabic), Novomed in 11, and Cocoona and Kaya Skin Clinic in 9 each. Live search named CosmeSurge twice and Cocoona never. Only Novomed, Kaya Skin Clinic and King's College Hospital were named often by both.
The answers were built from booking platforms and doctor directories as much as from clinic sites: fresha.com was cited in 14 answers, more than any other site, and HeliumDoc 18 times, 15 of them in Arabic. In Arabic, questions about Al Nahda and Deira pulled Saudi pages, and one answer recommended hair transplant clinics in Jeddah and Riyadh.
What we asked
50 questions in the words UAE clients use, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman. The 25 English questions are tagged by intent: 11 compare, 6 specific, 4 price and 4 trust. The 25 Arabic questions cover the same treatments and are tagged "mixed". Ten of them, word for word:
| Question | Language | Intent |
|---|---|---|
| Best aesthetic clinic in Dubai Marina for Botox? | English | compare |
| Where can I get laser hair removal for dark skin in Dubai? | English | specific |
| How much do lip fillers cost in Dubai and where is safe? | English | price |
| Which skin clinic in JLT is licensed and has good reviews? | English | trust |
| I am 24 with hormonal acne, which dermatologist in Dubai Hills should I see? | English | specific |
| Affordable HydraFacial in Downtown Dubai? | English | price |
| أين أعمل ليزر إزالة الشعر للبشرة السمراء في دبي؟ (laser hair removal for dark skin in Dubai?) | Arabic | mixed |
| كم سعر فيلر الشفايف في دبي وأين المكان الآمن؟ (lip filler price in Dubai, and where is safe?) | Arabic | mixed |
| أفضل دكتورة جلدية في دبي هيلز لعلاج الكلف؟ (best female dermatologist in Dubai Hills for melasma?) | Arabic | mixed |
| أفضل عيادة زراعة شعر في النهدة؟ (best hair transplant clinic in Al Nahda?) | Arabic | mixed |
Who AI named
Counts are the number of the 50 answers that named each clinic. We joined English and Arabic spellings of the same name (CosmeSurge and كوزميسيرج count as one), so some counts are higher than a count of exact spellings in the data file.
| Clinic, as named | Claude, live search (of 50) | Gemini, from memory (of 50) |
|---|---|---|
| CosmeSurge | 2 | 15 (11 in Arabic) |
| Novomed | 6 (5 in Arabic) | 11 (10 in English) |
| Kaya Skin Clinic | 5 | 9 |
| Cocoona | 0 | 9 |
| King's College Hospital London (Dubai) | 6 | 5 |
| Hollywood Smile (four spellings) | 0 | 8 (all English) |
| Zulekha Hospital | 1 | 7 |
| Aster | 2 | 7 |
| Glow Aesthetics | 5 (all English) | 0 |
| DRFK | 5 | 0 |
| Medcare | 4 | 4 |
| Euromed Clinic | 0 | 6 |
| Thumbay | 0 | 6 |
The lenses disagree in shape, not just in names. Gemini from memory returns to a short list of established groups and gave CosmeSurge first place in 7 answers. Claude with live search rarely repeated a clinic, because each answer was built from the pages that matched that one treatment and area. By our matching, the two shared at least one clinic on 11 of the 46 questions both answered with names, and put the same clinic first only once. Some live answers led with a named doctor rather than a clinic (q057 and q069, both about hormonal acne); the study counts clinics only.
Not a ranking. This is what two AI assistants said on one day, 21 October 2026. It is not our ranking, a review or an endorsement of any clinic. A clinic missing here may still be excellent, and the lists change between assistants and over time.
Where the answers came from
Claude cited 9.48 pages per answer, 474 in all. The sites it used most:
| Site | Citations | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| heliumdoc.com | 18 | Doctor directory; 15 of the 18 in Arabic answers |
| fresha.com | 17 | Booking platform; cited in 14 answers, the most of any site |
| medcare.ae | 13 | A hospital group's own site |
| practo.com | 13 | Doctor directory, all in English answers |
| en.wikipedia.org | 12 | Mostly general pages |
| glowdubai.ae | 9 | A clinic's own site, all in English answers |
| royalclinicdubai.com | 9 | A clinic's treatment and price pages |
| drfk.ae, perfectdrs.com, tajmeels.ae | 8 each | Clinic sites; tajmeels.ae mostly in Arabic answers |
| tebcan.com | 8 | Doctor-booking site; every page cited was about Saudi cities |
| ar.airbnb.com | 6 | Holiday rental listings, cited in Arabic clinic answers |
By type, 87.1% of citations were clinic and other websites, 7.4% directories, 2.5% Wikipedia, 1.5% social media and forums, 1.3% review platforms and 0.2% news. No government page was cited at all, not even for "which clinic is licensed" questions. Our filter counts only well-known directories such as Fresha, Practo and Doctify as directories; HeliumDoc and tebcan fall under "other websites", so the real directory share is higher.
- Treatment pages with prices get used. Price questions were answered with numbers taken mostly from clinic pages: HydraFacial in Dubai "from as low as 299 AED", one for AED 100 in Abu Dhabi, lip fillers at AED 700 to 2,500.
- Booking platforms answer "near me" questions. Fresha pages for Botox, facials and skin treatments by area fed the English answers. A clinic with a full, current Fresha profile is in that pool.
- Arabic leans on HeliumDoc. 15 of its 18 citations were in Arabic answers. Doctor profiles there, in Arabic, are part of how a clinic gets named in Arabic.
English vs Arabic
| English (25) | Arabic (25) | |
|---|---|---|
| Claude: answers naming at least one clinic | 96% | 100% |
| Claude: clinics per answer | 3.96 | 3.16 |
| Gemini: answers naming at least one clinic | 96% | 92% |
| Gemini: clinics per answer | 5.04 | 4.30 |
| List-style share of Claude's sources | 40.8% | 41.5% |
| Questions where both lenses named a clinic in common (our matching) | 4 of 23 | 7 of 23 |
Arabic answers were thinner, 3.16 clinics against 3.96, and built from Arabic pages: 95.3% of Claude's Arabic citations were Arabic. Gemini's Arabic answers leaned hardest on one name, CosmeSurge, in 11 of 25. Claude's Arabic answers named Novomed 5 times, against once in English.
Where the answers drifted, question by question:
- q099, best hair transplant clinic in Al Nahda (النهدة): the live answer described clinics in Jeddah and Riyadh.
- q092, best acne scar centre in Deira: the live answer said most of its results were about Jeddah and Saudi Arabia, then named two Dubai providers.
- q089, licensed aesthetic clinic in JLT (أبراج بحيرات جميرا): answered for Jumeirah instead of JLT.
- q058, top hair transplant clinic in Business Bay: the first search returned clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area; the assistant then searched again for Business Bay, Dubai.
In all, 9 citations came from Saudi doctor-booking pages (tebcan and Vezeeta). Write the area and the emirate together in both scripts, for example النهدة، دبي.
Three real answers
Where can I get laser hair removal for dark skin in Dubai?
Claude with live search, first names: Amara Aesthetic Studio, DRFK, Salus Clinic. Gemini from memory: Kaya Skin Clinic, DermaLase Clinic, Aesthetics International.
أين أعمل ليزر إزالة الشعر للبشرة السمراء في دبي؟
The same question in Arabic. Claude with live search: DRFK Turkish International Day Surgery Center, Laser and More, Novelty Clinic. Gemini from memory: Novomed, Aster Clinic & Hospital, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital. DRFK, whose own site was cited, was the one clinic named in both of Claude's answers.
How much do lip fillers cost in Dubai and where is safe?
Claude with live search gave a price and named no clinic: "Lip filler costs in Dubai typically range from AED 700 to AED 2,500 or more." Gemini from memory gave AED 1,200 to AED 2,500 per syringe and named six clinics, starting with Eternity Medicine Institute and Amwaj Polyclinic.
What it costs to buy this attention instead
Top-of-page bid range from Google Ads Keyword Planner, UAE, 21 Oct 2026, with average monthly searches over the last 12 months.
| Search | Monthly searches | Competition | Top-of-page bid (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| dermatologist dubai | 4,400 | High | 8.52 to 33.01 |
| botox dubai | 2,900 | Low | no bid range given |
| laser hair removal dubai | 2,900 | High | 8.28 to 25.00 |
| hair transplant dubai | 2,900 | High | 6.25 to 24.09 |
| عيادة تجميل دبي | 110 | High | 12.53 to 52.43 |
| ليزر ازالة الشعر دبي | 0 | not rated | no bid range given |
Clicks here are cheaper than in dental: 100 top-of-page clicks on "dermatologist dubai" cost up to AED 3,301. The one Arabic search, عيادة تجميل دبي (cosmetic clinic Dubai), had the highest top bid in the set, AED 52.43, on only 110 searches a month. "botox dubai" swung from 1,600 searches in April 2026 to 4,400 in January 2026. Ads stop when the budget stops; a named place in an AI answer does not have a click price, but it is earned page by page and is never guaranteed. More in AI SEO vs Google Ads.
What an aesthetic clinic should do
- One page per treatment and concern. Laser for dark skin, melasma, acne scars, lip filler, HydraFacial, hair transplant. Each with a dated price range, the device or method, who performs it and the branch. Live search answered these questions from exactly such pages.
- Keep booking and directory profiles full. Fresha, Practo, Doctify and HeliumDoc fed many answers. Same name, prices, services and hours everywhere, including Google Business Profile.
- Arabic pages for the same treatments. Arabic answers used Arabic pages and named different clinics. Use one Arabic spelling of your name; Gemini wrote CosmeSurge in Arabic five different ways, two of them with stray Hebrew letters.
- Name your doctors, with licences. Some live answers led with a doctor, not a clinic. A profile per doctor, linked to the clinic, turns that mention into your clinic's name.
- Stay inside the ad rules. DHA's Standards for Medical Advertisement Content on Social Media require documented consent from any patient used in an ad (section 6.10) and say claims such as "the best", "safest", "100%", "has no side effects" and "immediate results" must not be used (section 6.11). Health ads need prior approval under Cabinet Resolution No. 7 of 2007 (MOHAP), and Abu Dhabi clinics log health ads with the Department of Health through TAMM.
- Measure monthly, in both languages, on two assistants. Start with our free AI check; the full plan for clinics is on AI SEO for clinics. The audit is AED 1,950.
Method and limits. 50 aesthetics and dermatology questions (25 English, 25 Arabic), each asked once on 21 October 2026. Lens 1: Claude with Anthropic's live web search tool, all 50 answered, 474 citations saved; the search runs on a US-based index. Lens 2: Gemini Flash-Lite through the Gemini API, without live search, all 50 answered. Every recommended clinic was listed with one rule set; directories, government bodies, product brands (such as Botox or HydraFacial) and individual doctors were left out. Our name matching across languages may miss variants. One day, one run, and we did not check that every named clinic exists or is open. Full method and data: UAE AI visibility study 2026.
