Which garages and car services does AI recommend in the UAE?

What we asked AI about car services

We wrote 50 questions the way UAE drivers ask them: 25 in English and 25 in Arabic, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman. They cover garages, servicing a BMW outside the dealer, car washes, insurance, no-deposit rental, ceramic coating and PPF, tinting, used car dealers, honest mechanics and recovery "now". The English set had 11 comparing questions, 7 about a specific job, 3 about trust, 3 urgent ones and 1 about price. The Arabic set mirrors those types. Here are 13 of them, word for word.

Which businesses did AI name most often?

This table shows how many answers named each business, out of 50 in each lens. We merged spellings of the same name, including Arabic and Latin versions. This is what two AI assistants said on one day, 21 October 2026. It is not our ranking and not an endorsement of any business.

From memory, Gemini's five most-named businesses took 15% of all its mentions. In live search the top five took 7%. Live search had its own repeat names, but they were different ones: On My Way, a mobile car wash, in 5 answers, and Fasttrack Emarat in 4. Almost every other name it gave appeared once.

The disagreement was close to total. The two lenses shared a business on 3 of the 40 questions both answered with names (7.5%), and almost all of that overlap was in English. Gemini was not steady with itself either. For "Best car service garage in Dubai Marina?" Gemini put Deutsche Technik first, and asked again about 20 minutes later put Royal Swiss Auto Services first. On the Arabic version of that question, its two answers shared no names at all.

Where the answers came from

Claude cited 467 pages for these 50 answers, 9.3 per answer.

The most-cited sites were en.wikipedia.org (33), onmyway.ai (8), ar.airbnb.com (8), yellowpages-uae.com (7), and then servicemycar.com, propertyfinder.ae, policybazaar.ae, ceramic-my-car.com, carservices1.com, dxbgrg.com and buyanyinsurance.ae with 5 each. Here is what that shows:

• Area pages win. On My Way's site has a page for each area it serves, such as "Car Wash Deira", "Car Wash Al Barsha" and Arabic pages for Muwaileh in Sharjah and JVT. Those pages were cited 8 times, and On My Way was named in 5 answers, more than any other business in live search.
• Coverage pages count. For a Dubai Marina garage, the first name Claude gave was in Ras Al Khor, because its page said it "serves Marina via free pickup and drop within 20 KM". A page that says which areas you serve, and how, can win questions about areas where you have no workshop.
• The answers copied facts. 15 of the 50 answers included a phone number. Prices were repeated word for word: tinting "starting at AED 299", ceramic coating "starting from AED 1,500", and third-party insurance from "AED 630 a year".
• Insurance runs on comparison sites. Policybazaar, BuyAnyInsurance, Lookinsure and Shory were among the main sources for the insurance questions.
• Wikipedia was filler. 33 citations, two thirds of them in Arabic answers, and mostly unrelated. For the Arabic question about servicing a BMW outside the dealer, 8 of 9 sources were Wikipedia pages such as BMW South Africa and BMW Bank. For an honest mechanic near Business Bay, 6 of 9 were Wikipedia pages about Business Bay and unrelated people and firms, and Claude named no one.

English vs Arabic

Claude's 24% hedging in Arabic was the second highest of all 10 industries in Arabic, after law firms. 87.3% of the pages cited in Arabic answers were Arabic, but many were the wrong pages:

• The word for "honest". We asked for a ميكانيكي أمين, an honest mechanic. أمين also works as a first name. Claude named no one on 3 of the 4 Arabic honest mechanic questions, and for Al Barsha it looked for "a mechanic named Amin" and got pages about amines, the chemicals.
• The wrong country. For the best car wash in Al Nahda, the results were about car washes in Riyadh, Jeddah and Qassim, and Claude named no one. For Business Bay, most sources were Saudi car sites, though it still named one wash it placed in Business Bay.
• Holiday flats. For the best car wash in JVC, 7 of 9 sources were Airbnb flat listings in JVC.

English had a smaller version of the same problem. For ceramic coating in Business Bay, Claude first said its results "primarily show ceramic coating and PPF shops in the general Bay Area region (California)", then searched again and named Dubai shops.

Urgent questions split the lenses the other way. On the 7 recovery "now" questions, Gemini from memory named no one on 3. Live search named recovery firms on 6 of the 7, and all 6 of those answers included a phone number. Our reading: recovery firms tend to have simple pages that say "24/7" and name the area.

Three real answers

What it costs to buy this attention instead

If you skip AI answers and pay for the top of Google, this is the price. Figures are average monthly searches and the top-of-page bid range from Google Ads Keyword Planner, UAE, 21 Oct 2026.

At the top of the range, 100 clicks on "car insurance uae" cost about AED 3,923, and 100 on "car service dubai" about AED 3,573. The Arabic search for car insurance had the same volume as the English one, 4,400 a month, at a top bid of about half the price. Rental demand swings: "car rental dubai" reached 18,100 searches a month in October and November 2025 and January 2026, and dropped to 9,900 in March, April and July 2026.

Ads buy the click after a driver searches. The AI answer comes first for more and more drivers, and it has no slot for sale.

What a car service business should do

1. Build a page per service per area you serve. "Car wash in Al Barsha", "tinting in Deira", "recovery in Sharjah, 24/7". Include areas you reach by pickup or mobile service, and say how. This is exactly what got On My Way and a Ras Al Khor garage named.
2. Put the facts in plain text. Starting price, hours, "24/7" if true, the areas covered and your phone or WhatsApp number. 15 of 50 answers repeated a phone number, and several repeated a starting price word for word.
3. Answer the trust question on the page. For "honest mechanic" questions, live search named garages whose pages promised things like "honest pricing". Show written quotes, your diagnostic fee, your warranty and your real review count.
4. Write real Arabic pages with everyday words. Use the words drivers use for your service, with the area and city in both scripts ("الخليج التجاري، دبي"), so a search cannot read your service as a person's name or a place in Riyadh.
5. Keep your listings consistent. Yellow Pages UAE, HiDubai and 2GIS were among the sources. Use the same name, area and number there and on your Google Business Profile. Insurers should make sure their prices are current on the comparison sites the answers read.
6. Check more than one assistant, every month. Ask your 10 real customer questions on ChatGPT and Gemini, in English and Arabic, and write down who gets named. In this category the two lenses almost never agreed.
