AI tools answer shopping questions by reading store pages, guides and lists, then repeating the plain facts they find: what the product is, the price in AED, the delivery threshold, how you can pay and how returns work. A UAE store gets named when its collection pages answer real shopping questions and those facts are written as text, the same way everywhere.
It is worth the work: 85% of UAE consumers have used AI tools to help them shop (Visa, June 2026). But be careful with the numbers. On Hype, a UAE Shopify store we work with, a ChatGPT answer we recorded named the store first for kids' school backpacks in Dubai, yet AI orders we could credit after removing influencer coupons came to zero.
What shopping questions does AI answer?
UAE shoppers mostly use AI to research, not to buy. The Visa study found the top uses were checking reviews (60%) and comparing prices (59%), and only 32% would let an AI agent check out for them. So the job of AI SEO for a store is to be the name in the answer, and to send the shopper to your product page ready to buy.
Shopping questions fall roughly into five groups. These are our examples, written the way a UAE shopper types:
| Type of question | Example | What the answer needs from your store |
|---|---|---|
| Where to buy | Where can I buy good school backpacks for kids in Dubai? | A collection page for that exact product group, with UAE delivery stated |
| Best for a need | Best insulated water bottle for a 6-year-old? | Product pages with specs, ages and sizes in text |
| Price and value | Cheapest place to buy a pram in the UAE with free delivery? | Prices in AED on the page, the free delivery threshold |
| Delivery and payment | Which store delivers to Abu Dhabi tomorrow and takes Tabby? | Delivery times by emirate, payment options written out |
| Trust | Is this store legit? Do they accept returns? | Returns policy, contact details, reviews on outside sites |
The first question in that table is real. A ChatGPT answer recorded by our team in 2026 replied: "Hype (justhype.ae): the brand's UAE store, known for bold backpacks and matching sets. Free UAE delivery over AED 200, and you can pay with Tabby or Tamara." Two other stores followed.
The store facts AI repeats
Look again at that answer. Besides the name, it repeats two store facts: a delivery threshold and two payment options. Those are details an AI tool can lift and check, unlike "high quality" or "best prices". They are also the facts UAE shoppers weigh most:
| What UAE online shoppers want (2025) | Share |
|---|---|
| Free delivery | 51% |
| Free returns | 45% |
| Package tracking | 37% |
| Option to pay cash on delivery | 36% |
| Delivery in 30 minutes or less | 30% |
Source: EZDubai and Euromonitor, September 2026 (commissioned survey). On payments, 87% of UAE online shoppers paid by card in 2025, 67% used cash on delivery and 52% used a digital wallet; shoppers could pick more than one.
So write these facts as text, in the same words, everywhere a shopper or an AI tool might read them:
- Product pages: price in AED, in stock or not, delivery time to Dubai and to other emirates, the free delivery threshold, payment options and the returns window.
- Collection pages: two or three lines at the top that say what the range is, who it is for, the price range and the delivery promise.
- A shipping and returns page: a short table by emirate, with cut-off times for next-day delivery if you offer it.
- Outside your site: Google Merchant Center, your Google Business Profile if you have a showroom, marketplace listings and your Instagram bio. If one says free delivery over AED 200 and another says AED 150, in our view a careful AI tool is less likely to repeat either.
The pages AI quotes: collections first
In our study of 500 UAE buyer questions, 87% of the 4,634 pages the AI cited were inner pages, not homepages, and 38% had a "best", "top" or "أفضل" style title. For a store, that points to two kinds of pages: the collection page for each product group, and buying guides that compare products for a need.
On Hype, collection pages were the money pages, and that is also where we made our biggest mistake. The two main collections (school bags, 63 products, and insulated bottles, 46) had no title tag at all, and we missed it for seven weeks after rewriting the school bags description, so Shopify fell back to the collection name plus the store name. A 4-product mini backpack collection held the "Boys' School Bags UAE" title while the real 53-product boys' collection did not. And 90 of 135 collections had no links from other pages' text. We fixed all three on 24 September 2026.
What to take from it:
- One collection per main shopping search. Two collections chasing the same search split the signal.
- Every collection gets its own title tag and a few lines of real copy. Read the title back after every change, because a filled description makes a page look finished.
- Link collections from your guides and from each other. A collection nothing links to is hard for anyone to find.
- Write buying guides for real needs. Hype's back-to-school kit list article, with the brand's own video and VideoObject schema, reached position 6.3 on Google within 18 days.
Structured data for products
Structured data, often called schema, is code in the page that describes it to search engines in a fixed format. Google says there is "no special schema.org structured data" you need for its AI features. Normal product markup still does its usual job, and Google tells stores to keep their Merchant Center and Business Profile information up to date.
| Product markup field | Google's status | UAE detail to get right |
|---|---|---|
name, image | Required | Same product name as on the page and in your feed |
offers.price, priceCurrency | Required | AED, the price the shopper actually pays |
shippingDetails | Recommended | Delivery cost and time to UAE addresses |
hasMerchantReturnPolicy | Recommended (Google suggests setting it once for the whole store where possible) | Your returns window and who pays return shipping |
On Shopify and WooCommerce, many themes and SEO plugins add some product markup already. Problems to look for: missing shipping and returns fields, prices in the wrong currency, and two sets of markup on one page because a theme and an app both add it. Run a product page through Google's Rich Results Test and fix what it flags.
Product reviews can carry star markup. Reviews of your business as a whole, shown on your own site, cannot: Google does not show stars for reviews a business controls about itself on LocalBusiness or Organization pages.
Arabic product pages
Arabic is where most UAE stores are thin, and where AI answers are thin too. In our study, Arabic answers named fewer businesses than English ones (3.7 per answer against 4.9) and hedged twice as often (11.6% named no one, against 5.2%). At least 11 of 250 Arabic answers drifted to businesses in Saudi Arabia. When Arabic pages existed, they were used: 90.2% of the citations in Arabic answers were Arabic pages.
For a store, that means:
- Real Arabic pages at their own addresses (such as
/ar/), not a translation that only appears in the visitor's browser. AI tools read the page code. - Arabic titles, descriptions, product text and image alt text. Google decides a page's language from its visible text, so a page with an Arabic menu and English product text reads as an English page.
- Say UAE and AED in Arabic. "توصيل داخل الإمارات" and "درهم" on product pages make it clear the store is not in Riyadh or Jeddah.
- Keep prices identical to the English page, and link the two versions with hreflang tags (code that tells search engines which language version to show).
Hype has an Arabic version at /ar/. Arabic title lengths and product schema for AI were still on our open list at the last log entry, so we don't claim Arabic results there yet.
The Hype numbers, with the caveats
We started SEO and AI search work on justhype.ae on 31 July 2026, at the start of back-to-school season. The season makes the first month look better than the work, so here is both:
| Metric | 3 to 30 Jul | 31 Jul to 27 Aug | 13 Sep to 10 Oct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google clicks | 278 | 624 | 117 |
| Clicks from searches without the brand name | 7 | 18 | not pulled |
| AI assistant visits (GA4) | 16 | 61 | 18 |
| Orders credited to AI | 1 (AED 331) | 0 | 0 |
- Most of the click gain was the brand name, during peak season with an influencer push running. After the season, clicks fell below the start.
- Organic search orders: 33 orders worth AED 8,743 from 31 July to 31 August, checked in Shopify, influencer coupons removed, net of refunds. That is the figure we stand behind.
- AI revenue is zero after the coupon rule. The only AI order of the month (AED 506) used an influencer's code, so it moved to influencer sales.
- The fair check is year on year: for 22 September to 10 October, clicks went from 48 in 2025 to 63 in 2026, and impressions from 1,777 to 3,556.
The full log, including what didn't work, is in the Hype case study. How we tag AI orders is in our guide to tracking leads from AI.

Checklist for a UAE online store
- Write down 10 shopping questions your customers ask, in English and Arabic, and check them on ChatGPT and Gemini. Save dated screenshots.
- Map one collection to each main shopping search. Fix any two collections that compete for the same one.
- Give every collection its own title tag and three lines of real copy. Then read both back.
- Write your store facts as text: AED prices, free delivery threshold, delivery times by emirate, cash on delivery, Tabby or Tamara, returns.
- Make the same facts match everywhere: site, Merchant Center, marketplaces, social bios.
- Check product markup with the Rich Results Test: AED prices, shipping details, return policy, no duplicate markup.
- Build real Arabic pages with Arabic product text, "الإمارات" and "درهم", and hreflang tags.
- Write two or three buying guides for real needs, linked to the matching collections.
- Get reviews on outside sites the legal way: ask every customer, no discounts for reviews.
- Tag orders before you start: AI assistant orders matched by order ID, influencer coupon orders moved out.
- Judge results against the same weeks last year, not the month before, if your year has a peak.
What we'd do for your store
We start with the free AI check: 10 shopping questions, 5 in English and 5 in Arabic, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI. The AI Visibility Audit (AED 1,950, credited to month one if you sign within 30 days) covers 30 questions, 4 AI tools and 3 competitor stores, with a 90-day plan. Foundation (AED 4,500 a month) covers one language: site fixes so AI can read your store, 100 pages written or refreshed a month, and counting the leads that came from AI. Growth (AED 8,500 a month) adds Arabic, for stores that sell to everyone in the UAE. Every plan has a 3-month minimum, then month to month, with no setup fee.
If you are not named for at least 3 commercial questions on the list you approve within 30 days, we refund 100% of what you paid.
What we don't promise
- That AI will sell for you. On Hype, the honest AI revenue figure is zero so far, and we say so.
- That you will beat Amazon or noon on broad product searches.
- Revenue from one season. A good peak can hide weak work, and a quiet month can hide good work.
- Paid placements in "best store" lists, or fake reviews.
